Galatians 6:7-8 7 “Do not be deceived and deluded and misled; God will not allow Himself to be sneered at (scorned, disdained, or mocked by mere pretensions or professions, or by His precepts being set aside.) [He inevitably deludes himself who attempts to delude God.] For whatever a man sows, that and that only is what he will reap.
8 For he who sows to his own flesh (lower nature, sensuality) will from the flesh reap decay and ruin and destruction, but he who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.” AMPC
“Seeing the fruit that has grown and is in manifestation is a testimony of the care and attention we give the seed from the time we plant it in the soil.” Apostle Al Houghton.
We have reached a seventh day season of rest (Genesis 2:2). This indicates to us the completion of our labor, and perfection of everything we have been believing God for. But this season also brings a tipping of the scales in the direction they have been made to weight more. In the area where people have sown the most, whether to the flesh or to the Spirit, that is what they will reap. Some will reap the blessings, promises and good that comes from God because they have sown following the leading of the Holy Spirit in prayer, fasting, worship, and enduring obedience. But others will reap according to the works of the flesh they have sown. The Scripture above says these people will reap decay, ruin, and destruction (of the things sown that were not necessarily God`s will for them or that did not include Him and the counsel of His Spirit to bring them to pass, so they can have not only physical, but eternal consequences). Revelations 22:12 enhances,
12 “Look, I am coming soon, bringing my reward with me to repay all people according to their deeds.” NLT
For those who have sown to the flesh, among the manifestations of the reaping is the judgment of the demonic that has influenced them to do these works of the flesh and for that they will be placed in the fiery furnace to burn the dross and the dirt of those works with the intention for them to be reduced to love God and their neighbor as they love themselves. For that is what will make them to be known as sons and daughters of the Most High God. In addition, Psalm 21:8-10 says,
“You will capture all your enemies.
Your strong right hand will seize all who hate you. 9 You will throw them in a flaming furnace
when you appear.
The Lord will consume them in his anger;
fire will devour them. 10 You will wipe their children from the face of the earth;
they will never have descendants.” NLT
Your strong right hand will seize all who hate you. 9 You will throw them in a flaming furnace
when you appear.
The Lord will consume them in his anger;
fire will devour them. 10 You will wipe their children from the face of the earth;
they will never have descendants.” NLT
Verse 10 speaks of children being wiped from the face of the earth, and that they will never have descendants. This means that the work of the consuming fire of God is intended to devour the fruits of the flesh found in Galatians 5: 19-21 which says,
19 "When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, 21 envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God.” NLT
Instead, the fruit that God intends to bring out of us to be exposed to those around us is the fruit of the Spirit highlighted in Galatians 5:22-23.
22 “But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!” NLT
So to those who seek to obey and follow the works of the Spirit, Galatians 6:9-10 says to “not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. 10 Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith.” NLT
Therefore, the prayer that we can pray in this hour as we surrender to God to remove the works of the flesh in us is found in 2 Chronicles 7:14-15,
14 “if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. 15 Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to prayer made in this place.” NKJV
Now let me lead you in prayer: Heavenly Father, we ask that you hear our prayer as we come in humble surrender to you. We ask you forgiveness for all the wicked works of our flesh and ask that you bring your fire to consume them until we are transformed into your image and likeness that displays the fruits of the Spirit in us and shows our love for You and for our neighbor as we love ourselves. We choose your righteousness and holiness and turn from the old ways so we can become new wine skins that can sustain the new wine of Your Spirit you want to pour out on us in this season. We give you thanks for healing us and for being such a wonderful and forgiving God. In the name of your Precious Son, Jesus. Amen
.To God alone be all the glory.▪
